The Cardrona Hotel is New Zealand's most famous historic hotel from the gold rush era (established in 1863). It's located in the Cardrona Valley between Queenstown and Wanaka and is a beautiful old building nestled into the stark Central Otago landscape. The Cardrona Hotel is a must-see for visitors to the Southern Lakes and is also a popular place for locals to enjoy a meal or an aprés ski drink. With this design I wanted to capture the heritage of the Cardrona village and the unique quality of the mountains of the Cardrona Valley landscape.
