Christchurch, New Zealand post earthquake rebuild art print. For this design I wanted to create something that celebrates Christchurch as it is now in the midst of rebuilding. The print captures a sense of appreciation for the historic buildings that remain and also the vibrancy of a city in the midst of a new journey after the devastating earthquakes of 2010 & 2011. I thought it would be great to show the process of rebuilding Christchurch as it is now. I have gone into great detail with each building as I wanted to really do justice to both the old and new architecture of this beautiful city. I’ve also included some of the quirky elements that make Christchurch unique, such as the chess set in Cathedral Square, the Tramway, the Peacock fountain in the gardens and punting on the Avon.
