The Cardrona Hotel is New Zealand's most famous and historic hotel from the gold rush era (established in 1863). It is located in the Cardrona Valley between Queenstown and Wanaka and is a beautiful old building nestled into the stark Central Otago landscape. The Cardrona Hotel is a must-see for visitors to the Southern Lakes and is also a popular place for locals to enjoy a meal or an aprés ski drink. With this art print I wanted to capture the heritage of the Cardrona village and the unique quality of the mountains of the Cardrona Valley landscape.
